Back at last

Spent a bloody mint on tools today

Got stuck in traffic on the M6 cos I was too tight to give Gordie the Bastard £3.50 of my hard earned to give to one legged lesbians with forty illegitimate children and banks.
The show was a good crack and it was great to meet so many people from on here. Even met Fitzer and Pauly. The tales of drunken debauchery at the AGM as eluded to by Hobbo earlier in the year were sadly exaggerated, but it was good all the same. Dave very kindly gave me a lift to the pub from my B&B - top man
Stale one of our members from Norway said hello, but Paully wasn't being very friendly:
This was the only occasion all day that he partially removed his hat. He seems to have a bit of an ear fetish ... or perhaps there other explanations for this curious behaviour ? :-
His fellow Oirish mates were good fun though they seemed to think that my ordering a half at the end of the night was a sin on the same level as necrophilia with a recently departed baby

For this social gaff I was awarded a rather insulting piece of Oirish slang, the meaning of which I was fairly sure I had read in Roddy Doyles excellent novels, but they asured me it was not impolite - a quick check of Oirish slang from Google proved my memory less fallible than usual - gitz

They were certainly on a mission and the bar boy had a real struggle to eject them from the boozer at closing time, at, what I considered, an unreasonably early hour. I finally observed that Pauly is good at something, other than insulting folk ... drinking, he appears to be determined to take Ireland into the medals next Olympics for drinking.
Fer used all methods of persuasion, both ethical and otherwise to ensure I bought a club jacket.

To be fairs it's a cracking jacket at a good price.
All credit goes to those who organised a cracking stand which was a credit to the club.
I think that at this point it would be right and proper the give Jerry the credit he deserves for the work he puts into keeping the good ship Z1OC sailing smoothly - it was only during the AGM that I realised quite how much he actually does - think about it for a sec - every year he has to receive cheques from members, which then have to be banked, stuff sent back, he has to keep an eye on who owes what, what the finances of the club are etc. Negotiating with show organisers etc etc All this on top of his full time job. He is ably assisted by his good lady wife who also deserves our thanks. Thanks
