Z1000H
Well as some of you may have guessed I've taken over the baton in the relay to resurrect ninjabobs Z1000H.
Picked it up on saturday and I have to say loading a bike with no front brake was challenging - getting it out of the van on my own was a risk but fortunately the gods were smiling on me.
I will try and document progress as I go. Aim is to get it running before even looking at the cosmetics but I'm making plans for those as only an optimist can.
Took the petrol tank off today - oh dear. Petrol tap clogged with huge lumps (and I do mean lumps) of rust. A full internal refurb will be required together with a new fuel tap. The return valve was cleaned with Carb cleaner and now works.
A quick look at the fuel pipes suggest a visit to the local motor factors (fortunately a good buddy of mine) for some pipe & clamps, a new fuel filter is also called for.
The injectors etc will be getting a good clean is a specialist ultrasonic bath (courtesy of the local alfa dealer) and then we'll see.
I will also do the std checks on various components to validate them but in a few weeks I hope to put some fresh juice in it and see what happens.

well its up on the bench but i'm off on hols friday so little chance of any work on it.
I will document tank refurb when the nasty noxious chemicals arrive.
you want before pictures ? - surely not.........
BTW - a nice man in the USA (Mike Zamalis take a bow) has sent me a pdf of the FI troubleshooting manual. PM me with your email address if you want a copy.
Ollie - no email/pm from you as yet - are you sure you sent it ?

update.
Done a few bits this weekend as its been so wet.
Reassembled the brakes including master cylinder - Not too convinced about that to be honest but we'll see. If its not ok i'll bung a spare GSXR one on it for now. Need to go buy some brake fluid and spend a few hours bleeding the damn things.
Tank now shiny inside and reassembled - will wait a few days before putting petrol in it.
Waiting on a fuel filter from the USA and I've located a source for a new air cleaner (44 euros)
Have fixed a few air leaks between throttle bodies (see photo) and the surge tank and also between the surge tank and the air flow meter - I'm hoping this will help a lot !
Injectors are being ultrasound cleaned next week so maybe next weekend I'll try and start it.
IF it runs then I'll get the many cosmetics done if not.............
Oh yes a few photos.................
Tank as bought (3 photos)
Tanks inside now
Throttle body to surge tank - note the gap !
Fuel filter and manky fuel pipe - yuck.

got a call about my injectors today. All done. Cleaned and tested and nowwith a good flow rate and spray pattern. Just need to pick them up and refit.
New fuel filter ready and new pipes. Will check timing/valve clearances while I've got the top off.
Coils don't look too fantastic will check voltages and see - might need to invest in a new set
Will also run through all the other FI checks tomorrow. - A day with a multimeter................

You're mad if you pay that much for a set of coils...
Go Dyna, less than £100 delivered from Z1Enterprises..
Much better spark & can't see 'em so originality ain't an issue - unless you're really SAD
Chris, how are you gonna test your coils ?
Mine don`t look great either as after fitting a new points plate the spark ain`t so phat !
I see Bike Bandit do a new pair for $350
Postage will prob`ly be that as well
