Sorry you feel a need to rant about others not turning up but there happens to be other commitments at the moment like wife has MS and to round that off she lost our baby the weekend previous so when you start calling people tossers theres more to life than your fucking meetings and I survived 24 years with my Z9 before and I can after , so fuck your meetings

Crispy dear chap, don't take it to heart, Geoff doesn't mean you personally, it is his frustrations coming out after trying for weeks to gather the local troops in the area. He understands that people have other commitments sometimes on the day and others like yourself have bigger fish to fry than attend every meeting that occurs. But I think he has himself turned up at several meetings to be the only one there and this was seeming a waste of his time.
Everyone has to remember that there has recently been a call to area reps to "step up" their profiles and activity as some don't bother very much with the job. Geoff is trying to gain numbers locally with a view to in the future perhaps have a rally at the venue, so you can see he needs all the local support he can get, and as of yet all seems very flat to date.
Crisp, it's hard times your duffering, but Geoff wouldn't be aiming his rants at you personally, I know he wouldn't, it's just a collective thiing.
When you can in the future attend, you'll be most welcome and I'm sure will enjoy the meeting.
As to the other guys, all I can say is see you next time, and try to be there as this time you missed out on a good lunchtime.
THANKS GEOFF!

First things first, Crispy hope you get things sorted, family comes first no matter what. you have a pm

Geoff
I have bit my tongue for quite sometime now, always trying to be pleasant and and polite, but what the hell gives you the right to slag the local owners off.

At the beginning of the summer I tried to organise a run down to Southend and you berated me for it. It could have been a club run for the members to meet other members. Then to cap it off you "pardoned me for my insolence". Subsequently if i have something better to do on a Sunday then i do it. If i dont then i'll come to a meeting. It's not much fun Riding 10 miles on a sunny Sunday afternoon to a pub in the middle of nowhere if you can't drink. I like to ride my bikes not stand around looking at them all the time

If there was a run up to the coast, have a bag of chips and then drop into the pub on the way back then that would be great. What i'm trying to say is I like more of a biking thing than a drinking thing.

This time i'll put the Tosser comment down to a bit of red mist and a bit of a misunderstanding......this time

Chris
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

LOST ... BOATS - CARS - BIKES - 2 PROPERTIES - 1 BUSINESS - FUCK KNOWS HOW MUCH MONEY - AND TWO BABIES - SHIT HAPPENS IN EVERYONES LIFE ... BUT I STILL DONE TWENTY FIVE YEARS IS THE LONDON FIRE BRIGADE .. SO I THINK I HAVE BEEN THERE AND GOT THE FUCKING T'SHIRT

ALL I KNOW IS THAT I HAVE STANDARDS & IF I SAY I WILL DO SOMETHING OR BE SOMEWHERE ... THEN I WILL ...

STILL MAKES ME LAUGH ... THAT ALL THE TOSSERS THAT SLAG PEOPLE OFF .....................AINT FUCKING PAID UP MEMBERS

SO .... I WILL GET MY COAT

Geoff. If I may add my 2 penn`orth.

Don`t give up on the club.

You are obviously a very passionate member that has chosen to give more than most by electing to take the Area Rep`s job. I am sure this is mostly a thankless task and requires the patience and commitment of a Lion to undertake.
Members must understand that they will only get out of a club what they are prepared to put in ! If they put in little effort then they will get little in return. We must all appreciate that commitments at home have to come first and I am sad to say that sometimes the bike thing has to come after that. We may all like to feel we are still 19 with no consideration for other matters, but that is not the reality.

I have been asked to consider the Vice Chairmanship of our local Jaguar Drivers Club and have until February to decide. I know I can count on the members to support the club but personally I am not sure that I can give it 100%. You made that call and are giving it your best shot. Hats off to you for that.

Don`t be PISSED OFF, keep at it buddy. You have the respect of "ordinary" members for the extra effort you put in.

VDUK`s effort at the SW Rally paid off, but could easily have not because of the weather.

So in conclusion, don`t walk away and don`t vent your splene here. Keep at it, and when we finally have a good summer you will have a good turn out.

If you do organise a Rally for next year I for one will do my best to come along.

I understand peoples angry reaction to Geoff's rants, and can fully understand reasons for not attending some of the meetings.
MuddyChris's comments about going for a ride and then a pub is a great idea if you are local, but I for one will have to wave the guys off and see them for a drink later as at the moment my arse won't let me do many more miles on that ultra thin saddle!

I'm sure Geoff feels constantly let down by the masses of the area for non attendance en mass, not just individuals.

I for one will if Geoff stays as rep, support his every step and will try to attend every meeting, as I have really enjoyed (my backside will disagree on this!) the ride over and back from home as well as the chat and jokes whilst there. Geoff is a generous bloke that will buy people a pint anytime (and it doesn't have to be beer) and I again urge everyone in the area to try and attend, the more that go the better for all.

STAY AT IT GEOFF, you have my vote, if you want a deputy, I'm your man!

Chris.

Well maybe Geoff should lighten up a bit, especially as he has seen so much hardship himself.
I would have thought with his experience he would find some compassion for another who has had some very bad recent experiences but no he chooses to rant and rave and throw his toys out of the pram.
For my part I ride mike bike for fun and like to take part in things that make me happy, I wouldn't take part in something that results in the abuse this guy is dishing out. We all have commitments, some take precedence (work family etc) its what grown ups have to handle........

Firstly as mentioned by Muddychris , I am very sorry Crispy to hear of your troubles , please accept my deepest sympathies during what must be a very difficult time. Turning up to club meets must be the last thing on your mind and I hope you manage to get through it ok.

Oh Dear ...... how to encourage a growing memebership of our "Chapter", anyone reading this will surely be very encouraged to join us...not !

Geoff you have great passion but need to chill out , if you didn't want to take on the post you should not have done it in the first place. Trying to develop regular attendees is never easy but numbers will never grow by being called a "Tosser" if you don't turn up, this is not the way to encourage new or continued membership.

However Geoff I feel is also right , but perhaps has not gone the right way to achieve his ambitions. A better attendance response from the locals would be great , however thanks to all those who travelled so far and it was a great pleaseure to meet such a nice bunch.

The way forward ...well I would be happier with a ride out as Chris suggests , Geoff and I also discussed perhaps a ride/Meet to Barton Mills as this might be easier for others to get to.

Well.....we need to remeber that this is a hobby and occupies our very limited leisure time , when we get another nice day I would be happy to meet anyone for a Beer ( or a Coke Chris..) who is enthusiastic about Z's so please keep in touch.

I will be posting a ride meet in October if Geoff is not organising anything , all are welcome but if you don't want to come or are too buisy , I fully understand !

Ride safe and lets get back to sharing a passion !

All the best

Vince
