newtronic ignition black box

#1 PostAuthor: Z1B Alan » Sat Aug 30, 2008 6:43 pm

Out on the bike the other day when cylinders 1+4 packed up
limped into work had the coil tested to find zero resistance on said coil.
however also smelt hot electrical smell from the ignition "black box" so my question is after i change the coil if the black box is u/s dose anybody have one for sale .et.c.
p.s the bike runs on cylinders 2/3 so dose this indicate the control unit is ok :?: any ideas welcome.

regards

alan

Alan

The amplifiers within the black box often go tits up mate, it's not worth risking getting another in my mind.

The simple answer, and permenant solution, is to fit a Dyna S ignition system. No black box, 100% reliable, and you can use standard or high output coils. Fit, forget & enjoy :up

The lads are right our kid, yer black box is Donald ducked. Get Dyna S with new coils, job sorted, dead simple no fancy electronics. Time to break out the VISA card mate. (now Fer is bound to reply and say fit Dyna 2000).

As JR says...... Dyna S is the best bet... the 2000 is overkill & can play up...
