Hi All
But of a newbie to this board and to Z ownership - infact so new I don't even have the bike yet. One thing I do know is that I need to source an alternator (rotor, stator etc) and a casing. The bike in question is a z1r 1978. Does anyone know the best place to get either a complete one secondhand or the parts new.
Many thanks.

Welcome allybee,
you can try www.electrexworld.co.uk for a new stator @ £55 +vat, although they don't list a rotor.
You can also try Z Power, [look in links section], or John Browse; 01978 355556, or RB's Classic Kawasaki Parts; 07970 120000.
It's also worth putting a post in the Wanted section of the forum.
E Bay is a good source for parts too.
Good luck, let us know how you get on.

Four pipes rule, anything else is second best.
Thanks
Thanks for the tips Phil.
I've phoned John Browse and he has a rotor in stock at a reasonable price so thats good. Got my eye on a cover on ebay so fingers crossed on that one. As for the Stator I think a new one from Electrexworld is the way to go - i've been quoted around £30 second hand, so might as well buy new.
Cheers Alastair
