I have to say I agree with you 150% :D

It's a personal thing of mine, but I really dislike the use of violence or pseudo violence as an icon associated with bikes and bikers. The back patch clubs have a lot to answer for. Many are criminals who try to justify their despicable life style. When I was a youngster I emulated the patch club image, until I truly understood what they stood for.
I am pretty non-conformist as most bikers are to a greater or lesser degree. I saw the tables of weaponry for sale at the show and tried to kid myself I hadn't seen it - what the fuck has a shite load of potentially dangerous, even deadly, weapons got to do with bikes? grrrr  I'll tell you what - FUCK ALL!! A name that puts me right off the bikes is Street Fighters - I hate and loathe the connotation with urban violence which is at epidemic proportions in certain areas of this country with youngsters thinking that it's cool to carry knives and guns - It's not. I just wish to God someone would come up with a more descriptive name for these bikes - got no issues with the bikes ... just the name. Sorry for the rant

Ralph - calm down - think of your blood pressure.......... :)

With you guys on this, if it's a bike show, it should be exactly that, not a place for people to sell dodgy goods that would be more at home at a car boot sale. I guess the organisers would argue that at least they are filling stand space.
Incidentally, those that did attend the show, if you feel strongly enough about it, send the organisers an e-mail. Be interested to see what their reply is.

It's an M1 Tracker, with composite shell. Probably a step down from my top of the range Arai, but on the basis I touched down with my Arai with my slide with the FJ, it's probably safer. I hope I never find out for sure. I really can't put any more than I did on my long suffering credit card.

Interesting point that Chrisu puts across on both the weaponry and the title "Streetfighters".
Have never given either much thought until I read his piece up above, and I have to agree how right he is.
I will be more aware now and have stopped buying the "Stre*******ers" mag as it is so repetative and boring.
As for a new name for them? Well surely they should be simply called "Street Bitza's" !!!!!!.
My own bike is just that, a load of bits put together to make an object that looks similar to what the magazine is portraying

I think a name is just that, a NAME/LABEL..... STREETFIGHTER :?: Sticx & stones.

If they called them "Hard-Bikes" some small minded do-gooder would complain about it being a sexual reference

Its more that the un-initiated panic when they don't understand what a modified bike is.... even if called a streetfighter

As for the large knives, monster boots, tassled panniers, back rests... Dodgy & naff, but someone must buy that sh*te :|

Get real, anyone interested in bikes has a good chance of being categorized as a roughy/toughy GREASER type

Don't bovver me that much.... I just glance at it, then move on to the next stall :!:
I think this country has enuff of a 'Big Bruvver' attitude to start saying whats for sale, when & where... even if it does offend a few.
Time to lighten up and deal with it..... Disco's have drugs.. :??
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

I had a problem with the Old Gurl tonight, where she was missing badly under 5000revs and as I was following CB on her little Yammy I'd have had to stay in first to follow her all the way to the White Post.

When we got back I dropped all the float bowls and followed Jams advice after her go on his Dyno - upped the main jets to 112.5 and opened the pilots by 3/4 of a turn. Took a while and burned my puds, but using stainless cap screws on the float bowls I was able to do the who procedure with out taking the carbs off :D

Took her for a quick wizz up the lane and she felt a whole heap better :D :D

Nice one Jam.

Ralph I bit the bullet and bought the Bell M5X, turns out it was from the same people you got your leathers and helmet from "Gorgeous Bikes" in the Kings Road.
