It was a cracking day, good to meet up with everyone, the weather was good all day too! Nice pics bunny, and thanks for doing the videos for me. Zorded will hopefully post some pics and videos on here soon as well.
Pigford, you have me worried with your cracking starts and general 'no fear' riding style, take your time in getting that 1260 sorted won`t you? And your bike looks the hounds testes by the way, it was nice to do some side by side runs with you.
As for times, well...ahem....errrm, i`d eaten too many cakes/biscuits, my front mudguard was acting as a windbreak, errrm....well i started with 3 x 10.6`s and ended with a couple of 10.5`s @ 135mph, last 2 runs i didn`t get times for but probably not much quicker. I was hoping for quicker times than that, but Santa Pod at the end of the month will be the real test. Barry with the Z1000J Turbo did a 9.51 @ 153mph, not bad going! I`ll let Pigford tell you what his times were.
But overall nothing broke, the airshifter worked perfectly (cheers Zorded), and we all had a great day, see it`s the taking part that counts!

Good day, see what you missed Romeo
As for times.... well..... 11.55 / 116 was bestest for lil' ol' me
Got bike off the trailor  tried to start it & was only running on 3 :?:
Checked spark... OK..... Checked fuel... OK... then noticed a grub screw was missing in the cyclinder head, but the inlet..... :??
Managed to block it with a currant from a Garibaldi Andy was just finishing...
One run I thought I'd Donald Ducked me bike, coz on the last 100 yds she huffed/puffed/grumbled & died... Forgot to turn the fuel tap back on before the run
Image
Note the over-large front mudguard on that Z1R.... must be costing Andy a good 0.5 secs

Wroughton report:
Good day all i believe.
Really good to meet some folks and put faces to names as they say.
The event itself was well supported but only just broke even with the numbers game. They need 60 entries to break even at Wroughton because of the cost of hiring the site and i think they made just about that. They may well advertise directly at owners clubs in the future!

The easiest way to view these clips is to go to the album but have posted them here non the less.

There are some other clips of brit iron and some exotica also from todays' event.

P.S. Well done Barry for getting the 9.515, good but no cigar. Your best time to date but must try harder!!

Credit where credit due.
Thanks for the day go to The VMCC for running this fantastic event and allowing others to join in the fun.
Barry V for saving piggy's bacon with a ten mm metric fine plug to fill the gapeing void in his inlet manifold least the day be ruined or the engine blown up.
Andy Z1R for laying on the lunch and not kicking me un-conscience with his steel toe size tens.

Well done all, true spirit of co-operation.

There is Iain they used to run a round of the straightliners event at Crail
airfield here in Fife but they haven.t been back for about four or five years .
That was a run what you brung event run with streetfighters mag,Trevor the guy that ran the Ramsey sprint was the man behind it .
They always planned to make it a bigger do but couldn't get permission from the council for camping ,beer ,and bands. People had to camp on the roadside verges it had the potential to be huge but was stifled by short sighted bueracrats .

Trevor is still keen to get back to Crail for another Straightliners round! The stumbling block at the moment appears to be that the venue are asking too much...

Shame, as it was a great venue, and always good craic up in Fife!

If you like your stills, moving.

This was Wroughton earlier in the year.
These pics are taken by the guy from NSA, thats' sprint not sheep
This one is the best looking in my opinion but there are some other fantastic stills there which definitely capture that sense of speed and motion.
This is what happens when you push 200 + BHP out of a J1 with a turbo.

Click on the photos individually to enbigify them.

The next event not to be missed is the Brighton speed trials.
Bit of a mis-noma that because it is really a sprint event in disguise.

Brighton not Wroughton i know but just to give some idea of what it's like and an early warning for the actual event for Saturday 13th September.
I know its the same day as extreme bikes but it may give options for some.
