calstock bike show

#1 PostAuthor: grumpuszed1 » Tue Jul 29, 2008 9:21 pm

less than 2 weeks till the calstock bike show in calstock cornwall (7th-10th aug) i know a few members from the southwest area are going to attend this show what i am proposing is a rideout on the saturday morning to somewhere in north cornwall/devon (route and destination to be worked out this week ) as i am very local to this event and involved in the vjmc and gpz900 owners club i am posting a similar message on my other forums, hopefully there should be a really interesting mix of classic machines on this ride from zeds, to ninja's as well as my mates from vjmc which include cbx1000,nc30,rd500 lc,rd400,and a 1100 katana to name a few.roughly speaking the idea is to meet at the wooden pirate ship/playground area at 11.00am on the saturday morning i will be be wearing a red zpower t shirt and a nasty scowl (nothing personal its just the way i look!!!!) i will post another message with definate details nearer the time. if you need to contact me then send me a pm. no worries hopefully the zed will be finished by then???
hope to see some of you soon

What would a wolf want with a sweater?

Dunno 'bout the others 'but I'm riding down on Friday with Steve and Taffus and prolly pick up a Piglet on the way. I'm hoping to find some el cheapo accommodation Friday night and return Saturday evening.

Glad I didn't take my Zed.

I lunched the FJ on the top of Dartmoor  Really not 100% sure what happened, but I think it was a strong wind gust. One minute I was riding in a straight line the next we were both sliding down the road. I wasn't hurt but I'll need a new lid and waterproofs. The bike'll want a new fairing, handle bars, levers etc, etc  Just what I need when I'm skint as fek

shit ralph, sounds like a bad one! at least your still able to talk about it which is the main thing. a machine is replaceable a person is not so take some positives out of the experiance, i had a spill on the gpz a couple of months ago it was my first for nearly 15years and it was very minor so i will take it as part of the rich tapestry of lfe, when i left you on saturday and went up across the top of kelly bray and back towards home it was very windy just kept the speed right down.(im shit riding in the wet anyway) hope it wont cost too much to fix and as been said already cheaper to fix than a zed!
looking forward to the south west rally next month!
regards
graham

Good to see that your OK Ralph, sorry to hear about your spill, just goes to show that we are such vulnerable motorists at the mercy of not just car drivers, but anything else that can thrown our way.
Look after yourself Ralph
