Bugger Bugger Bugger , they've decided to do my yearly appraisal that Friday afternoon . No chance of sneaking away early ,as I'd hoped. Might have to leave at 6pm . It seem to be about 135 miles from my abode - is there a late opening place for fuel in Fort William ? Otherwise its a Saturday am job
Quick check - is it the Glenuig 10 miles beyond Lochailort? - you know how sometimes there are 2 or 3 places in the Highlands with the same name!!!
---I'd prefer to be heading to the right one . If you reply that it's the one in Shetland i'll guess you're kidding tho'

Hi Gray, there are two petrol stations on the A830 heading out of Fort William, at least one of them should be open. Perhaps contact the tourist information office to confirm. The A830 starts off a bit straight and boring then after you pass the end of Loch Eil it becomes a roller coaster of a ride, amongst the best roads I've ever ridden. When you get to Lochailort just past the pub, turn left and head down the A861, Glenuig is about 13 miles down the road. It's another brilliant road but beware of roaming sheep especially the closer you get to Glenuig. If it's dusk keep an extra lookout for Deer. There's a local lad who hit one years ago, practically sliced it in half and still stayed on his bike, lucky man.

Fuel station outside Glencoe should be open . Fill up there and you should make Glenuig no problem . If your not too late the Corran ferry might still be running which would save you going up to Fort William . Get of the boat , turn left and follow the road all the way to Glenuig .
