Throttle cables

#1 PostAuthor: CJE » Sun Apr 27, 2008 1:13 pm

Hi Guys, I have been having a bit of trouble connecting up my new 33mm Mikuni’s, my problem is that I don’t seem to have enough play between the threaded adjuster and the nipple, one of my cables fits both sides of the carbs but the other cable is shorter, do I need to just buy another longer cable, thanks

Are you sure you have the cable conected right?? in the pic it looks like it should be run through the "L" shaped bracket with little notch cut-out in it first and then on down to the carbs? Maybe wrong but in sure some one will know,

The problem is that the long cable fits both the brackets on the carbs and the short doesn’t fit either

If I remember right 33s need special cables, If you are good with a junior hacksaw you can shorten the outer leaving more length on the inner. If you go for two "opening" cables they will probably not fit as the inner goes around the drum on the closing side also the opening and closing cables have differing chrome bends on them where they go into the throttle casing.
