Z900 Battery

#1 PostAuthor: Gary » Sat Apr 26, 2008 6:59 pm

Hi,
the battery on my z900 has come to the end of it's life. can anybody help with some advice?

do i replace it with the same type (acid type) or buy a gel battery

where's the best to place to buy from and what sort of cost can i expect to pay for either type.

and to save me taking the old one out (still works after a run) can anybody tell me the battery part number (born lazy see)

thanks

Gary

Hi Gary,
how ya doin'?
The battery type for Z900 is; 12V 10AH -YB10.
There was a thread re gel batteries on the site a while ago, try doing a search for it. I think general opinion was not to use one on a Zed.
I think the last one i bought from my local friendly bike shop was about £35ish.
I have a spare Z-Power parts book if you want it, pm or e-mail me.
Four pipes rule, anything else is second best.

no. the ones in the Z900 are smaller !

I had a problem with the battery on my Z900 and tried one from my Z1000 - it does not fit. You need a YB10

Yuasa are the best if not the cheapest.

Varta are also good quality batteries but not the easiest to find.
GS batteries as well.

Due to a PM recieved from a local "source" it would seem that Yuasa may no longer be as bulletproof as they were a few years ago - due perhaps to all the manufacture no longer being done in Japan. Feedback on recent battery purchases would be useful.
