:?: On tickover I get an occasional low rumble, this disappears when the engine revs are raised, it happens when the engine is both just started and when warm. Is this usual engine noise am I being paranoid. The engine is smooth and silent through all other rev ranges - Any one got any iexpensive thoughts - Jacobmarley

Odds on it clutch rumble - may stop with clutch pull in :?:
Its often the back-plate cushioning springs that have loosened off, not uncommon.
Well balanced carbs lessens the noise.

OR

Could be the strater gear......
Remove L/H alternator cover & take rotor off (use streering head bolt) and check 3 x bolts holding starter wheel onto rotor
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
