Valve Timing Z1B

#1 PostAuthor: Glen » Mon Mar 24, 2008 2:59 pm

I am in the process of top end rebuild of Z1B. The Hayns manual is not clear to me regarding position of cam-shafts. The exhaust cam shaft has a line along the center of the plastic part of the sprocket, but there is a small Arrow on the metal part of sprocket. Should the line along center of sprocket be level with cylinder head surface, or should the arrow on metal sprocket face forward, level with cylinder head surface? If I do have it wrong, is ther risk of valves hitting each other or piston. :??

if you do a search on my name and timing you'll see some pictures I posted that 'should' make it clear.

Cheers Chris. You can't beat a simple diagram, I am off to the garage now.

Take the haynes manual and burn it . Get the proper Kawasaki manual and you will have no more problems .
