Did you get that neoprene sheet for your clocks I sent the other day? Also...I put one of my redline 'kits' in the envelope. Did you try it...and if so what did you think? I offered them to club members for a couple of quid to (almost) cover costs but no one took me up on it. I am surprised because it is easy to do and absolutely transforms the clocks for the better. I have been putting a few on ebay when I can be arsed and I have sold loads. One went for ?12.00 and another ?12.50, both plus postage!.... so......if any club members do want them for a couple of pounds they are surely getting a fair deal aren't they?.

Heya Paul, incredible job on the bike. I've gone through a couple of towels now wiping up the while I looked over this thread.

Looking at the first pics of where you mounted the bodywork and the seat with your comment about the lower sitting seat made me realise I may have the same situation with mine. Thanks for that !! Hopefully the guy doing the painting for me hasn't laid on the stripes yet....too late to call him now.

What is it you are talking about in the quote there ? Have you a way to re-do the clocks that is easy ? - from what I understand, they are not for the faint hearted.

Again, great job on the bike , and I would like to see the pics you mentioned of your mate's Z1000.

What was funny was that on advice earlier in the thread I had ordered the genuine parts from an american company and when they arrived they weren't in much better condition than what was left of the old one on the bike. All the foam had disintigrated with age and was crumbly.

I haven't done the red line yet, as I had only just reassembled the clocks. Do appreciate the kit and will defo try it.

This project is getting real close now but the final anodizing and chroming didn't show before the weekend unfortunately.
Thanks to Pigford sending me a solenoid it is now up and running and the PMC pipe sounds luuuuuuvly.
I was going to fit an oil cooler shroud but after two evenings making one I realised that I was being too optimistic on clearance available with the tacho cable and steering damper so I binned it and put the cooler on normally (well after making a hidden bracket for it and cutting those ugly mounting lugs off the side) (there is a big hole behind the gusset for the air to flow through...Ooh eer)



Stupidity and valuable time wasting continued because after making an aluminium low profile chain guard and having just finished polishing it, I decided to give it just one more tickle on the mop before I walked away from the wheel.....only to have the polisher try and wrap the chain gaurd and my arm around the spindle.
All sorted now and I have just fitted it.



Carbs are looking well after a bead blast and a bit of plating.....but I sold my vacuum gauges to a mate a year ago because i haven't used them for years....typical.



I hope it works as well as it is looks.

Sorry Big John...never got back to you on the wheels;

4.25 x 18 and 2.5 x 19 flangeless aluminium rims with stainless spokes.
Not sure the 4.25 with a 160 will go in a std swing arm (in fact I am damn sure it won't) and you will need to offset the sprockets 6mm using a 160

I was thinking of a 150 section tyre with maybe a 4 inch rim in a standard arm. Hagons are fairly local to me when I'm in London.
