rim/tyre sizes

#1 PostAuthor: conor998 » Sun Mar 16, 2008 8:13 pm

Just a bit of advice/tips needed,
I have an aluminium swingarm which I picked up years ago at a autojumble, its for a z900 apparently and I've seen them on e bay.
There is just enough room to fit a 180/55-17 tyre, I am getting the hub rebuilt with new alloy rim 17".
What size offset front sprocket will i need? Will the sprocket cover need to be modified? I would like to use a 530 chain and some highish gearing.
Also, going to get a new rim on the front, would like to put 120/70-17 tyre to compliment the rear, has anyone had any problems with this before? does anyone know of a mudgaurd that would fit?
Bike is 1976 z900A4.( u.s. import )

Cheers

Conor ( ireland )

Conor998,

Debbens do off-set sprox to suit, speak to Steve D, he'll know exactly which one.

There is a thread on the site running at the moment, about a similar subject :!:

You may need to file the inside of the sprox cover, just to take the lip off:

I run a 630 chain tho :!:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
