Have just done the carbs by removing the rear clamps totally and pushing the airbox rubbers into the box. Refitting was made easier with some petroleum jelly to the airbox openings ( 15 mins in and out ). You will not do this if the rubbers are hard, fortunately mine have been replaced at some time and are still supple.
