Brake light circuit

#1 PostAuthor: RALPHARAMA » Thu Feb 28, 2008 11:55 pm

I know that from someone who has just built a new loom this may seem an odd question ... when exactly should the brake light idiot light illuminate?

It does the same as it always did. It lights up with the brake light. I would have thought that it woud be more logical for it to light up if the break light switch is activated but the brake light doesn't illuminate. I took the replay out of circuit and the brake light continues to operate, but the idiot light doesn't. Does this suggest that the relay is dog and ducked or that it is functioning as designed. If the latter it will probably be skipped, as it is an unnecessary distraction and if the former ... prolly the same unless I see a working replacement going very cheap. :?:

Fitted a brake light switch failure to the Z1-R,lights up when you apply brake. If the filament is shot it will FLASH on application. To test this remove the Blub an apply brake :up
(i think long time since i test and had a S.B. :lool )
