Ralph, I think you may be incorrect. I recently (18 months ago) had a similar routing problem with a Z900-A4.
With reference to your photo, I believe that, at least part of the wires that you have gathered in the sheath, need to go down the left hand side of the air-box (where the knick is in the air-box) and proceed outside the frame member to the control panel. It will be covered by the LH side-cover.
The other part of the wires, now in the sheath, go to the right hand side and connect to the regulator for the hazard flasher etc. I'm pretty sure its the same routing as the A4.
