M/C arrived today. Still in original box unused! Reservoir cap was bright barbie pink instead of orange in photo!

Luckily I was in middle of basecoating a lid silver so guess what colour it quickly became.

Went to connect it and the banjo from old m/c was wrong thread. Arrrrrrrrrrrggh. Routed through several boxes in shed to no avail.
Hopped in car to go down to local redneck garage (8 miles) on the off chance they had one. Got as far as bridge off island and police car sitting there with big signs saying bridge closed due to high winds. Yeah we had been getting battered by 100+ mph winds all day like the rest of winter, but it was by then barely blowing enough breeze to blow out a candle! One copper waved me down and explained the situation. Rest of conversation went along the lines of;-
Well Im going through anyway
We cant let you do that for your own safety
Is there another car at the other side of the bridge
No
Then cars have to drive accross the bridge to find out its closed!?
We`re letting cars back on to island so folk can get home
Thats a bit fuckin irish innit!
Well erm.
So your not letting me accross for my safety.
Nope
So what about earlier when wind was 10 times as strong. Where were you then?
In station
So you put my life and my wifes in danger by not stopping us from crossing it twice in severe gales.
Erm, we only got told to stop folk a wee while ago.
What after winds gone. Thats police intelligence. Fine I`ll sign a disclaimer in case anything happens that it was my own choice.
Well we dont have any of those
What would you arrest me for if I just went accross then
Erm, dont think we can
Fine see ya then!
At this point matey in car pulls accross blocking off bridge. Had a few choice words explaining if Id been on one of my bikes Id have been past him on the back wheel regardless.

First time theyve probably seen a 20 foot hearse doing a U-turn with the rear wheels smoking.
Got back to house. Had another route through boxes n found banjo with right thread that wasnt there 1/2 hour previously!
Filled m/c and banjo up with brake fluid, connected it to hoses, pushed pads back into calipers to force any air bubbles back up into reservoir. Pumped lever few times n hey presto brakes with no bleeding. Usefull tip.

Looks quite funky too. Nice span adjuster for my little hands too.
