Z1R Tyres

#1 PostAuthor: dave m » Mon Feb 18, 2008 7:01 pm

Hi,

Can anybody help me, I,m about to put my bike through an MOT and I think the front tyre will need changing. Can anyone recommend a set of tyres with sizes for a 78 Z1R. The existing tyres fitted by the previous owner are a cheap cougar on the rear and a pirelli on the front. I have been into a couple of local dealers for info and prices but they seemed unhelpful especially when I mentioned the age of the bike.

regards

Dave

Thanks Jack,

I live near brigton but I am taking the bike to my mates garage for a service and mot in the old kent road, london this friday.

Do you recommend any particular profile of size for this tyre.

cheers

Dave

Ive been using Continentals on my Harris for years. I hear the continental road attack is now made in 18" sizes tho so I`ll be fitting those next. Theyre good tyres on my ninja.

Hi Dave,I'm not sure what rim width's you've got on your Z1R.
I would guess 100/90 on the front and 120/90 on the back.
Whatever you do,don't over-tyre the rim by fitting a wider tyre than is suitable for the rim width.
