ok its uk. the spades inside completely corroded and tried to clean it up and it fell apart.

took the bike for MOT today and PASSED

had a dodgy connection on headlight

high beam good but no low beam.
nothing so i wiggled the cable and it flickered.

got it home stripped it down and found problem but even when i hard wire there is still not low beam.

have you tested the bulb ? the z900 did not come with a h4 headlight so the wiring connector you have is not standard fitment . i would fit one of these ceramic type

Ok all sorted now me and my bike have been bonding all morning!! So it was a faulty connector and got the replacement lamp holder from Bowdens in Medway.
Really nice talking to them and hoping to get them to give my bike a once over sanity check.

Oh only thing is that Neutral light stop working. I've checke all the connections but nothing and maybe it is the bulb.

ok shorting the cable brings on the light. so I'm guessing now its the neautral switch.
it has been temperamental before so could it be as simple as something not engaging internally?
I've cleaned the brass spigot but still nothing.
Nice to know the cable to lamp is good though.
So close now

removed the neutral switch and it was a little oily but not much. blown it out and cleaned it.
the brass ball bearing is on a spring. should this be and force i.e. no play as mine rattles when i shake it although it does compress and i can feel it is sprung.

remove the sealing washer & try it if it works without the washer the brass pin is worn so either a new switch or a thinner washer required

I managed to unscrew the switch from underneath so would be difficult to see without taking this caseing off.
It has been a little temperamental in the past so maybe it needs replacing.
The brass ball rattled inside so I think maybe worn.
