paint removal from plastic

is there a good way to get paint off plastic parts, i have a plastic mudguard that has been painted and i want to strip it back but keep the finish of the plastic if i can.

If the original part was keyed correctly before paint then you're only real option is to try wet & dry sanding with something like 1200 grit, lots of soap and water, then take it VERY easy.

im after the original plastic as the finish, no wish to repaint. just some moron has painted something clean the same colour as the plastic and now its chipping and peeling.

and no keying was done because lucky to me he was a moron and i can see the shiny clean finish where it has peeled. I can try lightly tapping it all loose but you never know what has been done by some on here, blows me away.

Use brake fluid its slow but it works and does not effect the plastic.

cover it in gaffer tape & put it in the freezer the plastic will contract loosening the paint & should come of when you remove the tape

Blow it off with air line .fix a length of brake pipe to a blow gun you will get very hi pressure . If you have acsess to a compresser
