Eddie Lawson replica running rough
As title my 1984 Z1000R2 is running very rough.
If I remove the leads from 2 and/or 3 plug there is no change in the running of the engine.
I have checked the electrics and there is a strong spark from all, including 2 and 3.
I therefore thought it will be fuel. I drained the float bowl on all 4 carbs and then turned it over again, the same thing happened - it started but was rough. Again removing 2 and 3 plugs made no difference. I checked the float bowls and they had fuel in again. I didn't remove the carbs ( as that is a pain ) however I took the tops off and all looked ok, not gummed up etc.
1 and 4 downpipes were really hot ( as you would expect ) 2 and 3 were warm, I could touch them fairly easily.
I hope this makes sense and someone can point me in the right direction.
Cheers

As you know cylinder 2 and 3 are on the same electrical circuit so it would seem to me your problem is there somewhere. Try changing the coils over. That would eliminate anything electrical if it's still the same.

I have managed to get out today to have a look at the coils.
I checked resistance for both coils, primary and secondary side whilst off the bike and they were both within the parameters.
I then put them back on and started it up again and same rough running.
If I remove the leads for 2 and 3 the there is no discernible engine change.
I then disconnected the wires for the r/h/s coil which runs 2 and 3 and there was also no change.
I swapped the wiring over and the bike would not start at all.
I had an old coil for the bike so I checked the resistance on this one and it was fine so I tried this on the r/h/s and the same thing happened - zero.
I ran out of time and I propose to check the wiring as I think this is the issue.
Any other thoughts? or have I messed something glaring.

More thoughts needed please
I have checked the wiring for breaks and all good there.
If the Ac igniter is faulty will it fail totally or could it work to one coil?
Is it worth just getting a new set of coils? If yes, Dyna's?, I think I need the green ones? and best place to get them?
Cheers
