1979 MK 2 ignition CDI.... Plug gap 30 or 40 Thou ?????

#1 PostAuthor: johny brando » Fri Apr 08, 2016 8:00 am

Thanks to good info received on here on the Forum, I'm just about to run new BR8EiX Iridium plugs in my 900 which I'm running MK2 Ignition on & there appears to be some confusion within my 2 Clymer manuals...... one say's 30 thou plug gap & the other says 40-44 thou ????? anyone have a genuine MK 2 shop manual to hand ? It'a std UK spec 1979 CDI package & like i said gunna now use Iridum Plugs...they appear to be generically factory gapped @ 30 thou but if thats wrong .....I'll have very carefully re-gap them ....as they look a bit delicate compared to normal plugs ! Cheers.

If you're running Denso Iridium plugs, you can go to 8.0mm... they're real good
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Just leave them resting on the head and if it drops on to three you can spot the culprit without even stopping
