H*nd* CB starter motor?

#1 PostAuthor: MDM » Wed Mar 16, 2016 12:07 pm

I've got a vague memory of somebody talking about using a CB900 starter motor in a Zed, and that something had to be changed / altered / tweaked on the CB unit to make it suitable. I've tried to search on here to find anything about it but failed...
Anyone got a link to anything please?

I think all you have to do is rotate the casing, so that the electrical lead is in the correct place.

I didn't have any problem because I'm not running the standard sprocket case.
If you are you will need to relieve a bit of the inside because the motor post fouls.

The CB motor you need has "438" embossed on the end plate.

Fantastic, thanks guys! I've got a motor, so I'll check the number on it (what's the betting that it's not 438, knowing my luck).
