Zincing carb bits

Just took some bits off a4 carbs for zincing,on Steve Smethhurst site says to avoid zincing choke lifter as is hard chromed and may damage rod,anyone know anything about that?

not the choke lever he is talking about arm which lifts the carburettor slide ?

Smethurst is talking about the little 'dumbbell' that is lifted with the choke bar.

a4 carbs don't have this part smethurst is mentioning it is a different part on the a4 compared to the z1/a/b it is concealed under the carb tops where as on the z1/a/b the lever/ arm is on the outside of the carb

this is the part smethurst is talking about but it is not fitted to the z900 a4. on the a4 its an aluminium part & you cannot see it from the outside you have to remove the top from the carburettor to see it



this is the part & its only fitted to z1/a/b type carburettors
