17" wheels

#1 PostAuthor: crazy col » Sat Jan 26, 2008 1:26 pm

I need some advice.
I'm rebuilding my GPZ1100 and wont to go the 17" wheel root.
Wot swing arm wheel combo would be the most straight foword,
the same goes for the front end e.g. forks and yokes ect?
I would however still like to retain the twin shocks.
Any welding that is needed shouldent be a problem as a family member
is very good with a TIG set so no problem with stainless or ally.
Cheers for any help

You can get a zx6 front wheel and into the standard forks there's one on my 1000R but you may need you machine a small bit off the top of the speedo drive housing to allow it to centre - the guy that I bought the bike off didn't do that and it's fractionally closer to one side than the other.

At the back Kawasaki hubs are wider than Suzuki wheels so the Kawasaki ones are harder to fit - back end's just more complicated. ZRX1100 arm's close fit with spacers and will obviously take a Kwak wheel. You'd have to move your shock top mounts out though. There are plenty of other routes you could take too.

Suzuki front wheels are usually narrower on the hub than Kawas as well
