Unitrak with RS34s and Airbox?

#1 PostAuthor: RALPHARAMA » Thu Oct 22, 2015 1:15 pm

Has anyone ever tried to fit RS34s to a GPz 1100 Unitrak with the airbox?

I don't like pod filters. It would be sooo much easier to fit a set of RS flat slides rather than trying to get the DFi working with the 1170 wiseco kit, but I would rather use an airbox.

The original plan was to use the stock throttle bodies and fit modern injectors and control 'em with a power commander. Problem is setting it all up with a newly built engine

I've got RS38 flat slides on my Z1100R (which is a Unitrac engine) with the standard air box. It's also 1170cc.
Al (Zorded) has a 1000J with Gpz cams, 1170cc, air box and RS34's.
Massive improvement over the CV carbs - 20hp and instant throttle response.
Open carbs gave another 10hp or so but only above 8k in the still air of a dyno room. I'm not convinced it would translate to the real world of a moving bike.
I think on the dyno it was actually slightly less torque and power below 8K with open carbs.
