engine cleaning

#1 PostAuthor: floydsz1 » Sun Sep 13, 2015 9:30 pm

I need my z1b engine cleaning. I saw that Mr smethurst was doing them without stripping them down. He pumps compressed air into them. As it runs and sounds perfect I don't really want to pull it apart. Just wondered if anyone has had theirs done this way.
Cheers.

I'd be interested in the results from this method of cleaning. It would save a lot of aggro if it actually works.

Anyone got any pics/feedback?

What about the bolts etc?

If it's going to stay bare, you need to make sure they don't get the plating blasted off causing them to rust.

If you're going to paint it, there's nothing worse than an engine with all the bolts and gaskets painted.

Actually, that's not true, there are worse things.....
Cheers,

Mark.

I saw one at Stafford a few years ago that he'd done and it look the same as one that had been stripped and done. I'm fitting new screws and bolts so not bothered if they get damaged.
