Hi Wayne, looked at your pics, your carbs look like 28mm to me I had a set on my old A2, as you don't have the airbox rubbers on it would be easy to remove the carbs and reset the slides, the adjustment screws look quite low down in the nuts, it also does not mater whether its 20hg or 25hg on the gauges as long as they are about the same, are you far from me? i'm at Walderslade.
78/79/suzuki gs750 slides do not have the notch in the slide like the kawasaki one does

hi Kev i'm in Hempstead, what bike do you have?
I did check all measurements of the carb when i stripped them down so was fairly sure they were spec carbs as most of the bike.
Z1 i agree and this is very strange.
Kev im desperately trying to learn and can pick up most things. you are correct the adjusters do look low down but much the same as they were before i stripped the carbs.

Harness re routed and looks so much better and will now clear the petrol tap!
thanks for spotting that.
Ive set the throttle slides as best i can, they are all sitting the same and 0.5mm gap thickness of a paper clip.
just have to rely on the carbtune now i guess.

On my list for the long weekend. Just hoping my neighbours going away! It was about 0.005!
I used the chart in the manual and now it's tight, I'll check it again.
So I'm guessing perfect would be around 0.003
