Hose lines

Howie
HI Howie,
Yeh I'm really useing the originals.. there fine mate , they don't wear , stretch ,leak or show any signs or syptoms of any defects at all ,so there's no need to change em as the brakes work fine ( exc- my current issue that is ! ..which isn't hose related ! ) the use of Braided line ( which I admit do look great ) only really benefit full race track use/conditions i.e. when brake fluid actually doe's get hot, this can cause rubber lines to soften slightly & conseguently then buldge a pooftheinth......under normal road conditions = a non-event. So therefor I'm spending up on new Stainless Steel Pistons , 2 seal kits & 12 Copper Bango washers. Thanks for the input though . Cheers .

Good point !!
ADE wrote:Might be a stupid question.Did you clean the grooves out where the seals go.A little corrosion and they won`t fit in the grooves as they should.Pistons go out but struggle to go back as they are sticking to the seal

Very good & relievent point THANKYOU. I did actually clean the recess out well for the piston seals (this was a while ago as this has been going on for a couple of years now as I've been destracted with other bigger issues , so this has found itself on the back-burner until now ) they wern't bad at all . I have now just pulled my Caliper down again & found some corrossion on both Pistons & the boot seal recess's were gummed up a fair bit & tight on the pistons ...these 2 issues could maybe have contributed to my spongy lever issue. Now have new S/Steel Piston & seal kits coming & 12 Copper Bango washers too. Thanks for good input your help.

Banjo bolts bottoming out in the splitter? Mine were, i ditched the splitter and fitted two full length hoses off the MC!

Thanks for your help here. But I don't really understand what your saying about a sucking action ??
The pistons don't actually slide in the seals when being used.
When braking, the pistons stretch the rubber seals as they only move a tiddly bit, then when released, the seals spring back, pulling the piston away from the disc.
Thanks for your explanation ...appreciate that. That is exactly what I stated in my reply to Zorted ....see my reply above dated 16th August.
