Looking Royal Enfield Interceptor Mk2

Bit of a long shot but if you don't ask.
My mate is looking for a Royal Enfield Interceptor Mk2.
He wants a restoration project/non runner not a restored one.
If anyone on here has one or knows of one he would be very interested.
He does not want a Mk1 or 1A it has to be the Mk2.
Same engine as the Rickman interceptor.
I know that they are very rare as they only made just over a thousand.
The bike will go to a good home and will be restored to a high standard by a competent guy.
He has done various bikes both Brit and Jap and still has all of them.
He was torn between the Enfield or a Kawasaki W1/2 .
We went to have a look at the W1 that was on eBay last week but it disappeared before the auction ended.

I've been looking for the last 5 years as I wanted one as a present for my dad. It was the bike he always lusted after. I've only come across a couple for sale and both have been museum peices and silly money.

I think you are right .
My mate does not do computers so he was getting nowhere at all.
He has contacted Hitchcocks and asked them to let him know if they get any in.
He missed a couple that they had just sold that would have been OK for him and were at a price he was willing to pay.
I have to say that I thought that the prices were a bit on the high side for what you were getting but I don't do Brit bikes so they all appear a bit much to me.
I am trying to talk him in to the Kawasaki W1/2 it looks more of a viable project to me .

There is an Indian (USA) version and an Ital model but I suspect these are even rarer

I have done a bit of searching on the net and it is quite a story.
In the dying days of the British bike industry Royal Enfield had thrown in their lot with AMC this was Norton,AJS,Matchless,Francis Barnet,James and a few others.
The interceptor twins were looked at by the Norton blokes and were sorted out in to a reasonable bike by all accounts.
This became the Mk2.
About this time Floyd Clymer (he of Clymer Manuals fame) had decided to have another go at building bikes.
He was responsible for the Indian Velocette.
The frames were made in Italy and they used the Royal Enfield Interceptor 750 twin engine and gearbox.
Unfortunately Mr Clymer passed away after only a hand full of the Indian Interceptors were built and no further Indian Enfields (that's U.S.A. Indian not the ones that are made now in India)were made.
I don't know if the rest of the motors were shipped to America but at some point the Rickman brothers became involved and the motors were used in the Rickman interceptors.
