I have a minor oil leak coming from the head gasket. This seems to occur on say a 50+ mile run. The bike was refurb'd in 1996 but has done little miles since and I wondered if the bolts had ever been re tightened. I started to take tank off to re torque bolts but thought Id see if there were any pearls of wisdom/advice before....or that's the way I should go?.
Ps no over familiar with this but the manual say 25lbft for the bolts which doesn't sound a lot?
Cheers

Are you sure it is from the head gasket? Check the tacho drive port. It is very common for the seal and o ring to leak. Cam chain tunnel rubber can also give problems as can the copper washers under the head nuts above the oil journals.
Other will confirm the torque setting I'm sure. Don't forget to back off each nut 1/4 turn before re torquing.
