Whilst looking the same from above they are in fact subtly different.
A Z1000 tank won't fit a Z900 frame. A 900 will fit but needs the front rubbers spacing out by about an inch.
The Z1000 tank is 2 litres larger capacity by having a narrower front fixing point.
