import from EU

#1 PostAuthor: RAYZ1 » Tue Jun 09, 2015 10:37 pm

What do I need to get an Italian imported bike registered when the guy has lost the title?
From what I understand
Nova.
Mot
Insurance
Invoice
Dating and model certificate

Is that it? Anybody done same without a title ?

Yup, you should be fine with that. You'd still need to register it on NOVA, where you shouldn't get stung for import duty or VAT as it's an EU import. You would need a receipt though, stating that it was sold to you in Italy. As you rightly say you would need a dating certificate stating the year of manufacture from a recognised source (there is a list on the DVLA or VOSA website), then you will be able to get an age-related plate (once you have an MOT and insurance of course).

It all sounds simple because it is! :)
