Other than £60 a side for OEM's, is there any mirrors that look Ok and are not totally useless at 40+ mph? I have a pair a of replica's on at the moment which are a distraction at anything over 40 as they bounce around all over the place. Short of spending £120 is there a fix for these or replacements that actually work?
One site suggests filling behind the mirror with silicon to reduce vibration, anyone tried it?

Thanks Keith, chromes a bit blingy for me. They have to be black to fulfil my bedroom wall poster bike. Chrome sprayed black, maybe.
How are the mirrors attached to the surround? are they just ball and socket?
Can they be easily removed and replaced? if they can I could try damping the mirror with foam behind it?

You need mirrors that are threaded into the mirror not the plastic surround,i get the chrome ones off ebay and strip out the inside mirror and fix inside your black surounds, you need to tweak them a bit but miles better at a low price, got some on my thou at the mo.no vibes....

Paul, do you mean this type?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MIRROR-MIRROR ... 0924408745
or these?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kawasaki-Z900 ... 8745&rt=nc
There are loads of different ones on ebay and I can't quite get my head around your "fix" without visualising it.

Pretty sure these are the type, but pm the seller and check the thread is in the mirror not the plastic surround, you do need to remove a bit of pleastic from inside your bleack surrounds for them to fit or as suggested a bit of acid etch prime and spray matt black.or look for some gen one s hand on ebay and nick the insides...Paul J

you could do a lot worse than get a pair of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221245531641? ... EBIDX%3AIT
stems are a bit short but they are vibration free

Warren, my pattern mirrors were also useless: I was told by Dave Marsden at Z Power to try the silicon back fill as it will usually cure the blurring. But I got lucky and sourced a new pair of bargain OEM units so never did try it

This sounds like a solution to vibration free performance and the original look I'm after. I'll order some up and swop the stems. Cheers guys.

I've got those on long stems also. They are virtually identical to the original Kawasaki items, only difference is a slightly rougher finish on the back.
I put foam in the back of mine just to make sure and they are rock steady at any legal speed
I think the right hand mirror is a new genuine Kawasaki item, the other is the Yuniworld job

It's my understanding that the PMC ones are made the same as the originals, as I believe most of the pattern ones are with the stalk mounted to the aluminium swivel head which in turn is attached to the mirror?
That being the case why is it considered that the original ones don't vibrate or are better?

Why is life never straight forward! Pattern stems don't fit the Yuniwold heads they have different thread sizes. Got to bugger about now to sort it. Or do the silicon on the 900 pattern mirrors and use the Yuniwold ones on the 650.
