nylon thread

#1 PostAuthor: johnA » Sun Apr 26, 2015 5:03 pm

hello gent has anyone got any ideas on how to get a nylon crash bung out of an aluminium thread so far i have broken two strap wrenches trying to loosen it i don't really want to use a chain wrench or stilsons as it would ruin the crash bung and it cost a fortune from harris. is there anything i could spray on tried wd and duck oil to no avail.
many thanks in advance john

Pour boiling water slowly from a kettle on to the boss where the bung is.

Then try your filter strap, BEFORE it cools.
