Got a rattle

#1 PostAuthor: Bullhead » Thu Apr 23, 2015 7:29 pm

The bike has a rattle coming from the engine. You can feel it slightly through the frame on tick over. When i give it a tiny bit of throttle it seems to die down. When i am riding you cant hear it. It sounds like the cam chain. What do you think? Thanks

Also could be clutch rattle which is common.
As with the previous reply, balancing the carbs should help as well as checking and adjusting the cam chain tensioner if that is the source of the noise.

Also' if it's a clear 'Clack' that fades in and out at tickover, it could just be the camshafts moving slightly. I've had that on quiet a few Zeds.

Loose exhaust headers can sound like a rattly camchain too
