wont ffin start

had the carbs cleaned,refurbed.get a spark when contact the points with a driver..seems no fuel as the plugs aint wet...where do I start.getting nothing.
if theres anyone in the north Manchester area willing to check it out would be good.

Was it running b4 carbs were refurbed,who did them?

yea but its been stripped for powder coating.hothing on the engine done..dave did the carbs.

If you are sure you have a spark at correct time,make sure bowls are all full to correct level,try a drop of fuel into each plug hole and try again to ensure its fuel.

plugs are dry they should be damp by now the amount of times ive kicked it over.not sure on timing but I havnt touched that.new coils fitted gaps good .

do the plugs spark when its kicked over with them unscrewed out of the head and resting on the cam cover.

have you wired the coils up the same way they came off, the right ones not wired up for the left and left for right etc,

I th ink so.sparks weak but battery not fully charged.theres only 2 wires black and green from the points ive checked them out.

looking at your previous posts you had this problem last year & it turned out to be a bad connection. check that connection that you found to be the fault last time

keith came round z1r, points gap wasn't correct .sparks but weak,not fired it up at all,fitted the carbs today seems like fuel as plugs bone dry.when I put a screwdriver across the points the plugs spark.

have you removed the drain screws from the float bowls to check if fuel is getting into the carbs

make sure they are wired correctly flick the left hand set of points & no 1+4 should spark & the right side points should spark 2+3 plugs are the plugs good/ new. has the bike run since you have owned it?

yea a year ago,ran well,even tho tank was shot and carbs full of crap.got battery on charge,also got another a4,think I will take the carbs off that one and see if it runs.was told to kick it rather than use starter is that the best way.

if your battery is low use the kick start. if battery fully charged use the electric starter

Just fire some easy start in & c if it fires.if it does then its a fuel problem
If it dont then its an ignition problem
