#1 PostAuthor: Gavin » Thu Mar 05, 2015 7:31 am

I presently have the finned type of clamps fitted, but want to change to the smooth alloy type like my Z1300 has, anyone know if they are available or have a spare set they would be willIng to sell.

Not promising anything but if it's only a few sets wanted and I could turn out something for under £50 a set with a tenner or so of that being donated to club funds would folk be interested?

Can anyone confirm that the 8mm versions are all the same (900/1000/1100)? I took the measurements from a GPz1100 clamp which is all I have kicking around loose.

The clamps would be 1" thick 6082T6 ally with the areas around the studs reduced to 21mm (the thickness of my GPz1100 one).

The relief around the 9mm holes is large enough to allow a flanged nut to be used (assuming your studs are central; a flanged M8 is meant to be no wider than 17.9mm). Form B washers are smaller at 16.6mm.

Here's a rough drawing. Can someone with a set of verniers and a clamp confirm the measurements?

Disclaimer: I'm only playing with my CNC Mill and this could be a nice little project for my new high speed watercooled spindle. I press buttons on computers for a career and I is not a mekanikal enjinear so caveat emptor. Finish would be as-milled. Polish or Scotchbrite to your heart's content.

Just beware of secondhand. A lot will be banana shaped where they've been overtightened.
