Z900 carb question

#1 PostAuthor: Gavin » Wed Feb 18, 2015 5:12 pm

I am struggling to get No.1 cylinder running on tickover.
Itook the pilot jet out and the mixture screw( they are off a GS750 )
And the airscrew sprayed some carb cleaner , nothing appeared to be blocked.

Anyway I struck her up tonight, pretty much the same, but I took the cap off the vacuum attachment on No. 1 and the revs picked up, tried this on No. 4 and it stalled.

New 117.5 pilots fitted
Any ideas what's going on???

if you have removed the blanking plug & the revs increase i would say you have a blocked air passage on no 1 carb

It looks like I need to have the carbs ultrasonicaly clesned, thet raises another question should I clean the 26 mm or the 28mm carbs I have?

If I decide on the 28mm which main jets should I go for, it has a Marving 4 into 1

if you lift the slides up a little you will see a small bleed hole in the carb body floor make sure this is clear you will need something small like a wire bristle out of a wire brush to clear the hole
