Ok here's an update

Fitted coils
Charged battery
Found break in cable feeding coils from kill switch and repaired
12v at coils
Checked points and timing
Changed petrol to new
Checked spark at ends of HT leads and all good
Cleaned and checked plugs not sure good or bad and tested continuity and found a couple faulty and no spark so going to get new tomorrow.

Suffice to say it still didn't start so extremely frustrating!
Just purchased a 1976 UK Z900 A4 for renovation. Wish me luck.

if its sparks at the ht lead it should be ok when you replace the plugs. don't buy your plugs especially NGK from e bay most are cheap copies. buy them from a motor spares Halfords or whatever or replace them with nippondenso
