There's a cheap enough project A4 on ebay at the moment,
if you're friend can't get any joy looking for a frame with log
book.

For less than 3 grand this one has clean rebuilt carbs,
and engine that runs.
I think A4's are becoming more and more sought after
since I bought mine last yeasr I've noticed, so prices set
to rise just for frames with log books, might as well buy
a project bike, people are bound to keep an old frame
just as a future investment if nothing else.
