Front fork yokes - hi gloss black or satin?

#1 PostAuthor: 1340fxd » Sat Dec 29, 2007 8:32 am

Got the KZ1000 front end all stripped out - now the top and bottom tripple clamps are off to be 2 pack painted but to keep it original, should that be a high gloss black or satin black finish?

Also, when I re-build it all, what's the best gease for the head bearings?
Dear Santa, please can I have...

Not 100% sure, but I'd say the original factory finish is more off a satin finish than gloss.
Personally I go for a gloss finish for frame,s/arm,yokes,brackets,etc but prefer satin black for cast wheels, calipers, fork bottoms.

Satin black looks best and doesn't show up as many scratches from keys etc . Dead gease are probably better [ sorry couldn't resist that one ] .
