750 Zephyr torque figures

#1 PostAuthor: Al » Sun Jan 25, 2015 5:38 pm

Anyone got a manual for the 750 zepper that could give me the torque figures for swingarm pivot and rear wheel spindle please.
Fitting one of the early model ones with the eccentric adjusters to the J and dont want to buy a manual for two tiny details.

Al,

Looks like you can download it from Perton's site. :D

Al, I fired the question on kzrider and got the following; 80 lb/ft for swingarm and 65 for the axle.

Thanks Adrian great help as usual, i pulled up short of downloading the download / conversion programme. Natural paranoia i guess.
Thanks Adam thats all i needed to know.
I need to clamp the new swingarm mounting bosses for the frame / bearing inner spacer tube and locater plates with the swingarm spindle and spacers so i can weld the new frame bosses into the frame.
TBH i would never have thought that it would have been as high a figure as that looking at the way its made but there it is.
Same for the rear wheel spindle as it sits in cast alloy parts with very thin shoulders.

No problem. I searched a few forums for a while and there were a few comments about the high torque numbers for the swingarms on these bikes.
