I had always used NGK's in the past as they were the byword for quality plugs in the 80's. When I bought the old gurl she was running like a bag o shite, with the plugs breaking down for a passtime. After following advice on here I tried Denso plugs and though I bought 2 sets the second are still in the box. The old gurl has been smoking like a bastard and the plugs are caked in crap but she still started easily ' til I stripped her down in an effort to make her give up her nasty habit!
I bought my Denso's from http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/index.htm who were cheap as chips and offered a great service.
I have only heard one positive comment about NGK plugs on this forum. The author claims 4 strokes don't foul plugs ... young healthy ones don't, but old ones can. Perhaps the poster has more time and money than the rest of us and can afford to keep his classic four stroke in perfect condition. I got a lot of pleasure riding my old gurl before I had the time to take her off the road for a rebuild, just as well I found some plugs that would work in the short term!

Cross reference spreadsheet
For anyone wishing to know exactly what plug is required, despite plug manufacturer, here is a very hand 'XLS' cross reference spreadsheet that lists almost every plug known to man! Just save it to your hard drive for future reference.

All i'll say on this matter is NGK ain't as good as they used to be....!

Kenny,I got through a couple of sets of NGK's when running up my Lawson a few years back.
I only got 1 run out of each set and then they were f###ed out.
As I'd fitted new plugs,I assumed it must be a fault elsewhere and then tried to find a non-existent problem.
As i'd always used NGK since being a nipper,I ordered some more NGK as the factors who supply my mate stock DENSO and NGK are order only.
2nd set of NGK,fired up,switch off motor,then f###ed out again.
Then I got a set of DENSO and happy days
A mate of mine runs a car garage and he's now on DENSO as well after trouble with NGK.

Knut,
They're in me new RedZed
Ignore all this hype Mike, those NGK's I sent are the real deal, top quality plugs
I'm doing you a favour really
After 2 x cock-ups via the post, last one delivery mans fault
I've given up with the post
Please accept this PUBLIC appology and acknowledgement that I still owe u 4 x Denso plugs
If any of you Oirish chaps are over to the York Rally, and can deliver a set of plugs to Knut, let me know & I'll bring 'em up at the end of MAY
PS: As an long time user of NGK, since summer time I have converted to LEMMING mode and now only use Denso, the IRIDIUM tipped wire plugs, not cheap ?40 a set, but peice of mind
