Kenny your quite correct NGK are useless
I find they foul up very easily and are then useless
try Nippon Denso
a very durable plug indeed

This has been discussed on here any number of times, and while some people may not have had trouble with NGKs (which used to be a byword for reliability in the seventies) enough of us have found Nippon Denso W24ES-U to be a lot more reliable to make it worth taking note of. I am assuming despite stevef's post you started this thread because you have found plugs going off - the suggestion of many on here from experience is try Denso. Get them at http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/.
Or maybe we're all talking bull poo like top expert stevef suggests, you're just imagining it and we're getting backhanders from Denso.

I found NGK a great plug up until a few years ago when suddenly they would fail and no matter what you tried they remained dead
Iain Marshakk introduced me to Nippondenso and I have to say they are brilliant and all that NGK used to be and more
I am ignoring the brainless idiot who clearly know?s sod all about plug?s just like everything else he puts his size sixteen?s into

I started using Densos about five years ago after a bad experience with dead NGK plugs. The Densos are recommended as an alternative in the factory manual so I thought they were worth a try - that particular set are still in that bike and still working and I have always used them in the Zeds since. I subsequently found a lot of forum members had the same experience as has been discussed on here more than once. That's all I'm saying, that's my experience take it or leave it.
not at all MR doran just read what everybody posted then posted as if he new what he was talking about as he has heard others say this so to be honest he just jumped on the band waggon trying to makle it look like he knows what he is on aboutdavejames wrote:So you're backing it up and the rest of us are talking bollocks then eh Steve ??
Take my word for it NGK plugs are shite, I've had dozens of the bastard things in my Zed. Once they've fouled, there fucked, end of.

After getting through several sets of NGKs whilst giving my 1170 Lawson a service and many, many hours going through the electrics and ignition system I got some DENSO and no worries since
I'm sure it was Chris who mentioned that DENSO are the plug.
As I'd fitted new NGK plugs I assumed the problem was elsewhere
I'm pretty sure that NGK plugs are now made in China
I can get 'em via a trade contact for 30p each but I will only use DENSO regardless of ????$$$$
