Well I nearly have all the bits I need now for having my bike re-finished, I have also stripped off all that is no longer needed (fuel pump) so that just leaves me the filters to think about, I have foam filters on at the moment, but plan to go down the K&N pod route, but on looking at Klasmo's site they do a couple of options for my carbs with a 55mm opening, either a conical or an oval filter, what are the benefits of both, or is it purely cosmetic?

Visually the oval filters fill the space between the top of the crankcase and the bottom of the tank. They also probablyflow more air.
