Valve seals

#1 PostAuthor: Richard Q » Fri Dec 05, 2014 6:36 pm

Anyone know where I can get a set of valve seals quickly?

The set that came with the gasket set were weak and some are now broken

Get some of these as good or better than originals

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kawasaki-Z900 ... 3f3cabb7f8

The repro ones are all rubbish i have even had probs with Ape, the gen are good but pricey.. you said some have spilt how are u putting them on? best way is to fill with grease and pop on with small socket, the grease forces the seal outwards under hydraulic pressure just enough for them to pop on easily.PaulJ

The Suzuki spares ones are Viton, Jay z power ones are no better i reckon than the crappy ones u get in the pattern gasket sets i would only use Viton or gen ....Paul J

Cheers Paul. I ordered some from Saisei-Europe shop, they are
also Viton one's made by PMC (in Japan). I'm hoping they'll be
delivered soon so I can get me engine re-assembled before xmas.
Anyway, point is, has anyone else tried the PMC one's, they too
are pricey, but I'm interested to see how many miles they'll
last? If they're no more durable than the SuzukiPerformanceSpares
Viton one's, then I'll buy their one's next. As a side note, as Rob said
in another thread about Valve Stem Seals,
"Any "Viton" seals if installed correctly should last equally long."

No, the ones there selling now are nothing like those in a gasket set, made in japan and identicle to viton.

There's lots of anecdotes about valve seals and everyone has a choice. I think I will stick with selling APE, Kibblewhite and PMC. All good quality and you know what you are getting.

I get the genuine APE viton seals for £13 a set.
I've always used them and never had a problem with them.
