GPZ1100A1 Alternative shocks what have you fitted?

#1 PostAuthor: KWACKERZ1 » Wed Dec 03, 2014 4:08 pm

Hi just picked up a nice 1100a1 and I am thinking of upgrading the rear shock and maybe raising it slightly to quicken the steering.
Anybody got experience of alternative shocks for these bikes and what does or does not work well. (I know I could go done the Hagon route but maybe someone has an alternative that would be cheaper)
Its going in this.

I just changed my old saggy original rear shock on my uni-trak for a hagon ,and it is loads better ,i managed to get one off ebay s/hand £120 well chuffed it looks like it was hardly used ,one thing i did notice was with the old shock , i had over 2 inches of sag ,so now the bike sits better and feels a lot safer ! but i think they are over £300 new ! pricey but a good bit of kit ,and it can be fully rebuilt for about £100 ? that was the price i got a few weeks ago when i emailed them ...

Snotie,
The swing arm is very nice its a standard one modified professionally by NWS.

Thanks for the info re the shock!
It sounds like an option to consider but there must be other models shocks that are suitable.

Mine has a Fox rear shock and a TZR swinging arm. Came all fitted to the bike so no idea if it was straight bolt in.

Not really looking for a standard one the one in it is a good shock, just fancied an upgrade to something that is possibly more adjustable.
